Among the many highly specific theatre-related risk assessment notes I've encountered, I particularly like this one from #LiberationSquares rehearsals today: "Risk of accidentally throwing the Twix out into the audience."

In Derby for a few days and seized chance to see Minority Report The Rep which was visually stunning & all round excellent. We'll be back there soon with #LiberationSquares; and proud to cross touring paths with Tara Theatre's Silence, also feat. the words of @sonalidb.bluesky.social, [email protected]!

Proud of my local Brixton House Saw Liberation Squares tonight. Charming, funny, important. Performances full of energy, joy and intent. Enjoyed it so much more than the slicker, showier Big Show I saw last night. And the audience inside looked like the London outside. Big up.

Ah, Grantium. Funding application portal of dreams. Used to be hidden leeway- if it said you had eg. 1500 characters you actually had 1800. Golden days. Now it's bang on 1500. Except it's not. It's like 1472.84 characters. Why??? Destroying our sanity one ampersand at a time...

Shout out to Gwyneth Keyworth who plays Becky in #LostBoysandFairies. In one extended scene she gives a towering, blistering, broken-hearted beautiful performance that knocked me sideways in a show that had already knocked me sideways over & over again. BBC iPlayer

It’s get-in Arcola Theatre for 2023 #PapatangoPrize winner SOME DEMON by Laura Waldren. As we open this world premiere by a debut writer, we thought it might be useful to be transparent about what this show takes. The £££, the timeline, the risks, all of it. So, here goes...

Was great to be one of the writers at last night's Drama at the Depot, what a lovely crowd, lot of laughter & solstice vibes in a very cosy room. Thanks to my fab actors Philip Kingscott Kirsten Maguire, & director Sophie Good

What a brilliant day with Playwrights' Studio, Scotland at Beacon Arts Centre getting to hear actors read my play and talk it through & discuss climate activism, family ties and much more with them and the unparalleled Douglas Maxwell. Fresh sea wind & dolphin sightings. Cobwebs are blasted.

#Edinburgh playwrights have option of joining the #PlaywrightsFlashmob at Lyceum or Trav. I do slightly wonder if the groups should intermingle/cross back and forth... or combine for a spontaneous dance on Charlotte St.. Yes I KNOW that's not the point

That's our final lifeline, gone. No other fund of that scale exists for artists to make their own work. Orgs are already stretched, so we got good at doing it ourselves. And now we can't even do that. Creative Scotland Scottish Government creativescotland.com/news-stories/l…
