This past Saturday, the SCE Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team took 1st place in the Rockdale County Competition. They now move on the Metro Regional Competition next Saturday, February 10th at Clayton State University. Awesome job Shoal Creek!!!

Friday, March 1st was an awesome day to celebrate Read Across America. Students got to dress up like your favorite story book character and march in a parade around the school. We also had a guest nurse from Piedmont Hospital come and read to our Kindergarteners and 1st graders.

This past Thursday for Read Across America Week, we had local authors read to our different grade levels. This included authors from Mynd Matters Publishing as well as SCE’s own 5th Grade teacher, Ms. Sharpe and principal, Dr. Richmond who have also published their own books.
