Pitt takes the first set in dominant fashion, 25-15. Ryla Jones was excellent. So were Emmy Klika, Torrey Stafford and Olivia Babcock. Rachel Fairbanks had 14 assists. Not a ton of blocks, but 18 digs in set No. 1 for the Panthers. Stiffling defense to open the game.

A few errors from Pitt had PSU in front fro the first time at 8-7 in the second set. Panthers tie it up quickly on another Babcock kill.

Media timeout - Pitt is on an 8-3 run and leads 15-11. Only thing getting in the way of Pitt dominating this game has been itself. Lions haven't generated much offense outside of Panther errors.

Penn State is going to challenge that last Pitt point. Vazquez Gomez sent a spike right into the Lions' block and it bounced out of bounds, but looked close.

Pitt takes set 2, 25-19. Ryla Jones finished it off with a kill - her 5th, which ties a career high. Lotta outstanding performances from the Panthers so far tonight but a true freshman showing up like that in this environment is remarkable.

Announced attendance is 11,800 which marks a record-breaking number for #Pitt volleyball. The record previously was 8,865 so the fans smashed that.

11,800 fans are packed into the Pete tonight, shattering Pitt volleyball's previous record for attendance by about 3,000 people.

We're 15 points into the third set and PSU has held a lead twice - at 8-7 and 9-8 in the second set. Pitt is completely dominating the No. 3 team in America.

I mean, this feels like when one of Saban's Alabama teams would massacre some poor, helpless top-20 opponent during a primetime game in an NFL stadium on Labor Day weekend. At no point did this match feel competitive.

Make it 6 in a row for Penn State. Dan Fisher is not happy as he talks to his team in a timeout. 18-14, Panthers lead when we come back.

Pitt wins the third set, 25-18 and the match, 3-0. The Panthers still haven't lost a match or *set* all season. Dan Fisher said he thinks this team is capable of winning a national championship. It sure looks like he's right.

PSU head coach Katie Schumacher-Cawley said Pitt played better than anyone they've faced this season. "I thought they were flawless at times. They stepped on the gas and didn't let off and that's what great teams do."
