The Wild Dogs of Laikipia were my favorite animals to see in any context as they gallivanted across the landscape. The canine distemper epidemic was such a tragedy for the population but as Dr Woodroffe states, life goes on. RIP WDF124

Can we think beyond PA's and empower citizens to actively participate in conservation in India? Can there be more than just one model of conservation? Time to decentralise and democratise conservation in India.

I have a presentation coming up and as I outline it I am reminded that my visual artistic ventures should be left to the more talented. I am looking to include a couple of methods figures related to my drones and wildlife. Does anyone know good sci-artists I can collaborate with?

Incredible effort by this team to survey such an expansive area so intensively. Unfortunately, I fear that reports of disappearing top predator populations like this are only going to increase until we commit to much more concerted conservation efforts.
