Wire Walk: It was latter-May and all had reached semester story production targets. There was time left at the end of a class. Those there all agreed: It was time for (another) Wire Walk. Ryan beat the “Dub Drum,” and all enjoyed the leafy outdoor environs of the 11 Stories.

New Ball Game: The GHSA has merged all 7A and 6A schools. North Atlanta’s region in the new 6A will see the Dubs competing against much bigger schools – mostly located in distant Forsyth County. Read the story about the coming competitive challenges at thewarriorwire.org

Buckhead Battle: North squared up with Westminster for a scrimmage on Warrior Field on Friday, Aug. 2, and the Dubs rolled 35 to 7. Beyond the domination on the field, there were many supporters, in and around the bleachers and up on the hill. A good time was had by all. Go Dubs!

Sports Chief: Senior Rigsby Gullett is the complete man. An excelling IB student and a skilled Dub athlete. He’s also an air-tight and intrepid newswriter. Now in his second year on Wire staff, this year Gullett will lead Wire sports as Sports Editor. Congrats, RG! Lead On!

Big News: The “Day One” icebreaker for this year’s staff was “Hot Takes” and everyone brought it. Sports department members Rigsby Gullett, Josh McCullough, David Hughes offer support to Ryan Edwards as he gathers courage to give his counter-intuitive “hot take.”

Planning For Success: Three days before the Aug. 1 beginning of the 2024-25 school year, the Wire’s editors got together to plan out a big year for North Atlanta’s award-winning school newspaper. With this leadership, we just know it’s going to be a big year. Lead on, editors!

Copy Creators: The weekly Story Generation Meeting is where staffers present ideas and editors give feedback. So much going on in the 11 Stories! This talented crew will cover it. Read their work at thewarriorwire.org. (And no, we don’t know what Cabell is smiling about …)
