Scott Earley Yumei Feng Earley This whole fiasco is a disgrace to American Physiological Society. Healthy scientific discourse is the heart of our trade — but this was certainly not that. Glad Trebak Lab got to bring a rebuttal now, but too little too late. Damage is done.

What is the longest you have ever had a manuscript under review (at the same journal)? Ours is 290 days and counting. So, so frustrating. Two of the three reviewers recommeded it for publication in October. And yes - it is the proverbial Reviewer 2 that is holding it up!

Contact sites between organelles are critical for cell physiology. Interestingly during cell division the contacts between the ER and mitochondria expand with implications on cellular energetics. cell.com/iscience/fullt…

Congrats to L. Fernando Santana 🇵🇷 for being named Distinguished Professor at UC-Davis, apparently the first Latino to receive this honor. Well deserved Fernando!

Check out our new collaboration with Rose Dixon from UC Davis Physiology in @PNAS (pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…). We observed two modalities of beat-to-beat ATP fluctuations in ventricular myocytes based on SR-mitochondrial coupling strength. (1/2)
