The last day of Keystone Symposia Myeloid cells 2024! Little snow but lots of interesting new meetings and discussions! Back from lunch in town with Sarris Lab and Sixt Lab. Thanks again to the organisers Andrés Hidalgo, Daniela Quail Lab and Lai Guan NG, whom we all missed dearly!
Your immune system is the body’s defence against diseases. But have you ever considered what the immune system actually looks like? 🔍 🔬 Take a look down the microscope with julia_salafranca. 🎥 bit.ly/3uy9TND University of Oxford Medical Sciences Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology NDORMS
Chairing the Innate Immunity and Signalling session at #OIS2024, a meeting showcasing the immunology research in Oxford. Catch some of the Udalova lab members at the coffee break for a chat on our neutrophil and macrophage research! BSI Congress & Events
Some snapshots of Abhinandan at #EPW2024, who presented on the novel transcriptional regulators of neutrophil maturation. Abhi found fascinating to learn all about phagocytes!
New Doctor in the House! Congratulations to Barbora Schonfeldova for successfully defending her thesis and for celebrating in style! Huge thanks to Lennon Lab and Christopher Buckley for the enjoyable viva examination!
Just back from another Aegean Conferences on Innate immunity in hot and sunny Loutraki! Reunited with old friends, made new ones, presented two stories, discussed many others, danced Greek dances, and julia_salafranca received a trainee award! Thanks to the organisers!!
The Udalova lab having fun at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology retreat's treasure hunt 🔎🔎 Among the tasks we had to find 3 ducks in Oxford, a colourful storefront (check out thr improved mannequins!) and a bus going to the airport
At this year's Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology retreat Sarah Spear presented on her research project, julia_salafranca talked about patient involvement and public engagement (featuring a's choreographed neutrophil dance) and Irina guided us through the KIR strategy for the next few years
We are very excited to get started on this project with Sarah Spear and Team McNeish Lab. Thank you @CRUK for supporting this idea.
doi.org/10.1101/2024.0… - check out our new preprint - discovery of Zfp263 as a key checkpoint of neutrophil development. Abhinandan says: “This discovery opens up new possibilities for targeting neutrophil-driven conditions, from inflammatory diseases to certain cancers."
