The creepy crawlies are coming, including this one. Director Fede Alvarez’s #AlienRomulus, the sci-fi horror featuring many, many Facehuggers we’ve made, is out now. Run to your nearest cinema like your life depends on it. Alien: Romulus #wetaworkshop #alien #props #film

Director Wes Ball approached us to refine several characters and costume elements for #TheKingdomofthePlanetoftheApes. So we scavenged weaving materials from beaches, forged scrap metals into jewellery and created photo-real ape busts. #wetaworkshop #apesmovies #VFX #props #film

New year, new goal: Avoid the homicidal Tamagotchi. The turn of the millennium goes horribly wrong in the #A24 apocalyptic comedy… and we can’t wait to share all the things we’ve made horribly right. #wetaworkshop #film youtube.com/watch?v=P4f9gC…

Who's that chick? It’s a baby quetzalcoatlus, of course. This silicon puppet we made came out of its shell for the new Apple TV+ series #TimeBandits, adapted from Terry Gilliam’s 1981 movie of the same name. #wetaworkshop #props #puppets #practicaleffects

For The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, we worked on refining the look of Noa, played by Owen Teague. Pictured here is our beautiful Noa bust, meticulously hair punched and used as an on-set lighting reference by the VFX teams. #wetaworkshop #apesmovies #3Dmodel

A journey back to Middle-earth, this time as an anime original. Set 183 years before the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, this is J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy tale through the eyes of Kenji Kamiyama. #wetaworkshop #waroftherohirrim #lordoftherings youtube.com/watch?v=gCUg6T…

We’ve had a lot of good hair days, but these might be some of our best tressed. The #AppleTV series #TimeBandits has birthed some very hairy beings, namely, a baby woolly rhino and a full-grown mammoth that we built with tender precision. #wetaworkshop #props #puppets

Meet Raka, one of the gentler characters from The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. This is one of two physical busts we made for the film, used as a reference for the visual effects team. #wetaworkshop #apesmovies #VFX #designstudio

Rosemary wasn’t the first. We had one hell of a great time working with Director Natalie Erika James for #Apartment7A, the prequel to the 1968 film Rosemary’s Baby, premiering September 27 on #ParamountPlus. youtube.com/watch?v=Kj2GqM… #wetaworkshop #horror #thriller

After an extensive quest that did involve a trip to Mount Doom, we’ve found some behind-the-scenes photos of #Sauron. In this scene, the Dark Lord is covered in dozens of individual pieces of plate steel we made with an intaglio decoration. #wetaworkshop #lordoftherings #tolkien

We made a splash with our costume work for the Metkayina clan in James Cameron’s #AvatarTheWayofWater. Working with Costume Designer Deb Scott, their costumes were inspired by sea foam, sea creatures, fish scales and more for the world of Avatar.

In The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, young apes use a satchel to carry eagle eggs back to their homes. To resolve how this might look, our Textiles team began with a 3D print of an eagle egg and explored how fibres could be woven to create a pouch. #wetaworkshop #apesmovies
