This month marks 150 years of Waddesdon. In August 1874 Ferdinand de Rothschild writes to his Father in Law: '[…] Of course you know that James has purchased the Marlborough estate for me.' On the 22nd August the Bucks Herald reported the estate was bought for £200,000.
