Auditors issued a clean opinion for Fiscal Year 2022, marking BrightRidge’s 32nd year with a clean audit and strong balance sheet as BrightRidge prepares to refund nearly $3.46 million to customers. In the last three years, BrightRidge has returned $6.24 million to customers.

The Tennessee Valley Authority is terminating it’s emergency load control program at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, which will end the requirement for rolling blackouts within the BrightRidge system. Customers should continue to conserve as possible.

UPDATE: BrightRidge has restored an important transmission line, returning service to more than 5,000 customers, while continuing to repair numerous spans of wire downed due to this afternoon's storm. Use the utmost caution on area roads due to tree debris and downed wire.

JOHNSON CITY -- Motorists are advised to expect rolling roadblocks on Interstate-26 from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Sunday to permit the placement of broadband fiber crossing the interstate between Exit 20 at North Roan Street and Exit 22 at Watauga & Unaka avenues.

JOHNSON CITY- BrightRidge unanimously adopted a balanced Fiscal Year 2024 budget this week without an increase in local electric or broadband rates. With a balanced budget, the BrightRidge Board of Directors also voted to return $1.3 million to customers through bill credits.
