New blog alert! And it's the 1st installment of a guest blog post series from our friend Yuji Suzuki! The aim of this series is to use the concept of affordances to introduce musculoskeletal practitioners to ecological dynamics. Check it out! emergentmvmt.com/ecological-dyn…

It’s been incredible to have guidance of Dr. Tyler Yearby Shawn Myszka & so many other in the skill acq community on my quest to improve my own practice. As Shawn said, the idea of the blog is to share where I am now. Looking forward to the interactions that emerge!

What the heck are “affordances” and why does it matter for MSK practitioners? I also wanted to use it as opportunity to dive further into an ecological dynamics based approach for movement in the context of pain management/rehab!

In his new blog post series, Yuji Suzuki sets out to make some of the ideas of EcoD relatable to musculoskeletal specialists & movement practititoners, attempting to capture the experience & treatment of pain at a person-environment relationship level: emergentmvmt.com/ecological-dyn…

EXCELLENT blog-pain, rehab & #ecologicaldynamics. Setting the scene 4 people experiencing pain 2 have different experience in treatment. Growing relational recovery strategies 4 people living lives in pain. Look fwd 2 Part 2. I also might get writing. Exciting Yuji Suzuki

DECEL actions typically occur as a result of some sort of unfolding problem situation in the environment (i.e., opponent behaviors). Though I also used to isolate these DECEL actions, I now realize how short-sighted this really is... IMO, DECEL must be done in context! 2/2
