Glad to be featured in Mesophotic.org to talk about our research 💃🏼 thank you again !@PlymUni ⛴ 🌏 Marine Science 🐠 🐟
We’re here in Cabo Verde with the Biodiversity Challenge Funds-funded BAIT project to share knowledge, skills & equipment for monitoring mesophotic ecosystems 🇨🇻🪸
🎉 We just reached 50 dives! We are currently on expedition with NGO Biosfera Cabo Verde in Cape Verde deploying cameras down to the deep sea in areas which have never been seen before We have seen black corals, butterflyfish, trumpetfish and sea bream 🥹 And even a manta ray!
Should we be looking at using alternative materials to plastics in fishing gear? Would you be willing to pay more for seafood caught this way? Please share you views with us! shorturl.at/IITbz #PlasticFreeFishing #FISP Marine Institute Isles of Scilly IFCA Defra UK
🎬That’s a wrap 81 camera dives From 10 - >150 m depth 1 manta ray 2 moray eels Countless black corals! 🔥What a team! The BAIT_CV project is lead by Teresa Amaro with collaborators from NGO Biosfera Cabo Verde, CESAM - Centre of Environmental and Marine Studies, Uni-CV, Universidade Aveiro & University of Plymouth Funded by Biodiversity Challenge Funds
Today's decision emanating from Southwark Crown Court is an outrage . It is an attack on our civil liberties , we must defend our right to peaceful protest . @AttorneyGeneral , please meet with us urgently . This grotesque miscarriage of justice must be fixed . #WholeTruthFive
BAIT_CV has just finished its first field campaign in Santo Antão. Along with 81 dives we have exchanged knowledge between the different partners, but most importantly with the locals. Thank you all CESAM - Centre of Environmental and Marine Studies Universidade Aveiro University of Plymouth NGO Biosfera Cabo Verde Uni-CV and UTA.

Two of our flagship #OceanDecade Programmes, Challenger 150 and Seabed 2030, have partnered to consolidate the physical and biological ocean data being identified and produced by the two initiatives – further advancing our understanding of the ocean. 👉 ow.ly/bbHP50SBhCk
