PLASTIC FREE JULY challenges all of us to reduce our consumption of single-use plastics. In Miami @noaa funded #PlasticFreeCities a program that trains students to hit up local businesses & encourage them to ditch plastic service items for greener biodegradable options. (1-2)

Thank you Greater Miami and Miami Beach for inviting us to speak at your annual Partner Planning workshop panels! We covered sustainable tourism, Key2MIA covered inclusive tourism, and City of Miami Beach covered accessible tourism; then we brainstormed incorporating our insight their annual plan!

Our #plasticfreecities mentors are crushing this summer already! Stellar alum of our program are continuing to canvas, and have already met with 18 businesses this month! Currently working with 4 biz owners to give them small business grants for sustainable products 🔥💯

Welcome to #PlasticFree305’s newest member Barbakoa- they eliminated plastic straws, cups, lids, and bottles, preventing tens of thousands of plastics every year 🤩! Our #PlasticFreeCities students signed them up last week 🥳 Check out miamidade.gov/plasticfree305 for a map of members

We are beyond proud of our Plastic Free Cities students who just completed our summer program! Our mentors visited 55+ businesses, and helped oversee new students canvas 42 new businesses across Little Havana. They also helped remove over 400 lbs of trash from our community! 💯

Huge congrats to our #PlasticFreeCities 2024 students that graduated on Sat! These students canvassed 40 businesses, signed several up for #PlasticFree305, representing hundreds of thousands of plastics eliminated.
