Employing prisoners upon release gives them every opportunity to re-integrate into society and helps reduce reoffending. Hear from Robert, a prisoner at HMP Swansea who talks about his hopes following his release.

Great to see HMP Fosse Way officially opened today. Marking a key milestone in our plans to build new prison places.   The prison also benefits from state-of-the-art workshops designed to train offenders for employment on release - a key factor in helping to reduce reoffending.

Last week I was welcomed by Probation Service North West to visit Haworth House Approved Premise (AP) & an Unpaid Work (UPW) Site in Blackburn. Fantastic to meet colleagues supporting AP residents to reintegrate in to the community & seeing the UPW groups efforts to maintain local green spaces.

It was an honour to celebrate HMPPS staff today at @10downingstreet. I met colleagues from HMPPS HQ, Prisons, Probation & Youth Custody Services across England & Wales who help to break the cycle of reoffending, and ultimately protect the public. They never fail to inspire me.
