Duncan Hothersall You also don’t pay if you have cancer. I speak from personal experience - I was given a card to collect my life saving scripts for free.
Duncan Hothersall Duncan, It’s actually an impossibility as in England for the minority of people that do pay for their prescriptions, they offer this - £114.50 - 12 month PPC nhsbsa.nhs.uk/help-nhs-presc… The £183 claim is just an out and out lie.
Duncan Hothersall Sorry for reposting this, but it’s a favourite of mine
Duncan Hothersall I’m against VAT on school fees but I agree with you on this. Schools closing so far have been pretty niche and I know of one girls faith school in Scotland that had been slated to close by other education professionals for 30 years. They were poised like vultures to grab pupils
Duncan Hothersall If you listen to interview podcasts you often hear politicians and celebrities say some variation of "oh I had a normal middle class upbringing, I went to Winchester..."
Duncan Hothersall What these claims amount to is an admission that Scotland *needs* the U.K. and its Treasury.
Duncan Hothersall Mick W@tson ↙️ An unfunded tax cut? Isn’t that what Liz Truss tried to do?
Duncan Hothersall Mick W@tson ↙️ I’m angry about this and have felt the same when it’s been frozen before. It results in cuts and advantages the wealthy most. I think they should backtrack on this. I say this as someone who usually votes SNP because of their actions regarding child poverty.
Disenchanted Duncan Hothersall The Scottish child payment is absolutely to be applauded. But with additional spending, you need to either raise taxes or cut elsewhere. SNP strategy is to do neither, and then blame Westminster. That's the point here.
Duncan Hothersall The one I want answered, is their line about the income tax increases raising an extra £1.5bn. Is there any evidence of this at all?
