Advice-and-consent is a foundational pillar of democracy and New York City is out of step with cities and states across the nation. Today, the Council announced its filing of the ballot question to let voters decide on the advice-and-consent law in this November’s election.

New Yorkers must be allowed to vote on the expansion of advice-and-consent this fall, which would increase transparency of the appointment process for city agency commissioners. Blocking this ballot question would be blocking the voices of New Yorkers. Listen for more:
