You get less judgmental when you live long enough to see that it can happen to anyone. Homelessness, terminal illness, one paycheck too short for the month. It can happen to anybody. Even that breath you just took; that heartbeat can stop. At anytime.

People play dumb more than you realize. They’re peeping things, taking note and adjusting as is necessary. So don’t let the absence of arguments or criticisms in your life fool you.

That ain’t the problem. After you realize you have childhood trauma as an adult you do the inner work.. take it personally when people don’t give a shit enough to do the inner work after being told how the behavior affected you. Anything after that is abuse. It’s personal.
