The public excitement for the revitalization of Liberty State Park is undeniable. So too is the passion for ensuring LSP remains a public, sustainable, green urban oasis, even as new features are added to better serve LSP’s diversity of visitors and host community. 🧵 1/5

13 speakers by the end -- including (someone pointed out to me) Frank Fleming who was second to speak. Seems to be an avid reader of local news, citing NJT's controversial/expensive HQ move amid these budget probs and firing of NJT's manager on the Portal Bridge replacement project.

Today, leaders from more than 40 organizations and local governments sent an open letter urging NJ TRANSIT to pause the proposal to raise fares by 15 percent in light of the new Corporate Transit Fee proposed by Governor Phil Murphy. Read the letter: njpp.org/wp-content/upl…

Packed house at @NJTransit HQ in Newark for final hearing for NJT fare hikes. Comment deadline is midnight tonight but it's Friday Night Lights right now. More than 30 speakers testifying in a room that is wired for virtual options. Riders saying loud & clear no 15% fare hike

I want to say my two worlds are colliding together with Frank the Tank @NJTank99 as 1 of 13 speakers in Secaucus this a.m. to testify against the 15% @NJTransit fare hike. I would pay $$$ to hear what he said & whether it included a New York Mets bullpen analogy. nj.com/hudson/2024/03…

Watch Doug O'Malley discuss the new EPA rule to cut carbon emissions and boost electric vehicles and hybrids with Briana Vannozzi on NJ Spotlight News. As he says, this rule will be the "most significant regulation in history to reduce climate pollutants." youtu.be/TKYCj1ngyPk

I’ve heard Governor Phil Murphy tell complaining commuters that NJ TRANSIT is largely fixed. So I dove into every performance metric for train, bus, light rail and Access Link to compare how NJT was in 2017 compared to 2023. Here’s what I found 👇 northjersey.com/story/news/tra…

Took me hours to manually count from NJT's Twitter feeds canceled trips on all 3 light rail lines and the 2 bus feeds just to get an idea of cancellation #s lately. Those figures should absolutely be publicly available with the rest -- even if it's a fraction of trips serviced.

My friend, Doug O'Malley w a truth 💣 “To actually work this plan, NJ Transit will need what every other major transit agency in America has – sustained, dedicated funding to make necessary capital investments that have been delayed for a generation." nj.com/news/2024/05/n…
