I really enjoyed my first visit to UK Kidney Week. It was great to meet so many people who have worked so hard on the new BTS BK Guidelines - coming out to members for feedback soon. Fab also to talk to my fellowship funders Kidney Research UK and all the patient groups.

This paper has an interesting finding. They detected widespread interferon activation after 5 days at the intranasal innoculation site, but interferon response in the blood peaked at day 3. I was expecting the local reaction to inform the systemic one. nature.com/articles/s4158…

Really pleased to see our patient information leaflet on BK virus infections in kidney transplant recipients starting to reach patients via NKF. Proudly developed with patients, Kidney Research UK and BTS. #kidneyhealth #KidneyDisease
