“Controlled substance” laws are almost entirely arbitrary to begin with, and many controlled substances are quite literally lifesaving or at least therapeutic (ie beneficial). The absurdity is fully on display here with Louisiana classifying misoprostol as a controlled substance:

When i receive poor customer service, i try to remember that people are often providing service commiserate with their pay and that calms me. We cannot expect five star service from folks who are not being paid a living wage. Lest we become complicit in wage theft & extraction.

This ⬇️. Allyship is about action and not a label you give yourself. Being “nice” to people who are experiencing opppression does not make you an ally. Allyship is not contingent on you getting a 🍪 or 🌟 for doing the minimum.

Belonging in nursing does not happen by putting up a welcome sign. People must be intentionally seen, welcomed, and brought to the table - not as tokens but as fully empowered and respected colleagues with unique experiences and talents to share. We all benefit from diversity.

Unpopular opinion: I do not support children being charged as adults. I believe that mitigating factors must be considered when dealing with children. Taking a child from an abusive home and placing them in custody with adults who will further abuse them serves no justice.
