If anyone ever tries to convince you that knowledge for any health discipline belongs to or has been exclusively (even mostly) generated by a narrow group of cisgender white settlers of a certain class (as so often presented in textbooks here in the US)....

DON'T BELIEVE THEM.

Nursing education is NOT a meritocracy. Despite efforts by some & many good intentions, it remains grounded in carceral thinking, colonialism & wh*teness.
As long as this remains true, nurse educators should not equate academic success=worthiness. And GPA is not a valid measure.

Cuz a lot of y’all be struggling to understand this. A LOT. And if I hear the word “rigor” again when folks really are trying to just remain exclusive I’m going to lose it! Rigor and quality education are NOT inherently the same thing.
