Headed to ASAs? Stop by the Science Advances booth in the Exhibit Hall. I will be there for a few Ask Me Anything drop-ins and Editor Laura Remis will be holding down the booth. See this short doc for way more on social sciences at Science Advances: drive.google.com/file/d/1XyngxK…

Great opportunities to get involved in an awesome section of APSA. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ I’m the program chair for 2025 (Vancouver) then the president for 2026. Most roles are one-year terms but the at-large members are two-year terms so you’d be working with me. 😁🤪🤭🤣.

As my teaching in Uruguay wraps up, the Univ did a story (Spanish) about my involvement. 😊 I miss teaching but not enough that I would go back to 270 hours/year. For this class, we used the World Values Survey (Uruguay) and Jamovi. #interesting #fun😁 um.edu.uy/noticias/phd-e…

Zhang et al. (2024) use the 2021 Chinese Social Survey to document positive correlations between Internet use with citizen-led (discussion, expression, petitioning) & govt-led activities (meetings, hearings), but no correlation with voting. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

Interesting way to categorize types of participation. ⬇️ In my meta-analysis work, I found that internet/social media use doesn’t affect the likelihood of voting. This finding is replicated in new data from China, addressing a critical knowledge gap.

Interesting projections for Computer Science vs. Social Sciences. I haven’t read it but I wonder why Computer Science would have very large increases in female authors…🤔
