The last 12 months have seen global temperatures at 1.63°C above pre-industrial levels, according to Copernicus ECMWF. May 2024 was the 12th consecutive month for which the global average temperature reached a record value for the corresponding month, based on ERA5 data.
Can you trust body size datasets? Our new paper looks at >27,000 marine species with >1 estimate of max size, we find estimates are often identical or very similar, but can exceed two orders of magnitude in some species. Check out Dr Craig McClain's thread for links and more:
