A PhD is all about becoming better at research. So, it’s normal to look back on your earlier work and see flaws in it. That’s a sign that you’ve improved. #PhDvoice PostdocVoice

What I find awful is that often when autistic people say why they don't like being autistic, it's due how badly they've been bullied/treated just for being autistic. And often, they're conditioned to believe their autism is solely to blame, and not of those who mistreated them

Why people should be cautious using systematic reviews in medical decision making. I've seen systematic reviews used a lot on twitter lately as 'the ultimate proof' for or against their theories. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36796736/

To parents worried about their kids attendance because schools keep telling them attendance = success. My attendance was appalling, I stopped going at 14. I still got my PhD and a good job. Don't push your kids, focus on their wellbeing. They can catch up later.

Next Monday, a statutory public inquiry will open into the deaths of mental health inpatients in Essex. Without the courage, persistence and determination of bereaved families and survivors campaigning - the inquiry would not be happening. bit.ly/4dOzQKb

If we can't fix them, blame their personality and then we don't have to keep trying! How damaging has this view been to a lot of us undiagnosed and late diagnosed autistic people? How many of us got given incorrect personality disorders first?

Wtf is happening to my algorithm!? Did Musk fish this one out of 90's?! I'm now convinced more than ever the new algorithm is set to show us what will anger us the most so we engage more. I'm falling for it, someone delete my X before my wife does 🤦🏼‍♀️

And another piece of misinformation doing the rounds today: Some school shooters being on antidepressants ≠ the antidepressants caused it There are so many additional factors as to why someone might be given these meds and also go on to shoot up a school.
