I am at St Columba’s Hospice for an Away Day for Volunteer Edinburgh one of the charities that I chair. I love how this place embraces the beauty of life through beautiful flowers.

What a village we all live within! Last night behind our home CoCo and I witnessed breathtaking beauty.

Today is our 46th wedding anniversary! How did I get so lucky? Here is our wedding picture under Nancy’s apple tree and one this past weekend under Robert Burns apple tree at his beautiful farm Ellisland.

I am delighted. An experienced and well respected captain to steer our ship steadily toward Scottish independence!

Read rule 3. She was my student and occasionally late for her employment. Her boss called me for advice. I purchased a cheap watch and set it 15 minutes early and gifted it to her. She was never late again and remembered this rule 35 years later!

Here is my bonnie lass at Crichton in Dumfries which is a fabulous multi - use facility with learning, recreation, faith, great hospitality, and so much more! We loved it!

We finally made it to the house where Peter Pan was born! Moat House in Dumfries is amazing for both young and old! And we met a faerie named Sniffles!

On our way to the house where Peter Pan was born was this plaque in Dumfries. Amazing!

It is easy to se why Robert Burns was inspired to write Tam O’Shanter and Auld Lang Syne at his farm Ellisland near Dumfries. I placed my hand upon this water pump to see if it still worked and then realised Burns must have touched it too! I got an immediate chill!

Nancy and I shall celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary upon Tuesday 7 May 2024. Today we visited Robert Burns apple orchard at his family home
and farm Ellisland. We were married under an apple tree in Nancy’s family garden so it was fun to share one today with Rabbie today!

Crichton Memorial Church dedicated in 1897 for use by the patients of a Lunatic Asylum. It is rarely used now, however we were given a key and had a private look and listen!
