Well, some time has passed and some things have happened! I had a baby in January and started at MSKCC as the new therapeutic #MedPhys residency program director this month! What a wild ride it has been this year 😅

I am humbled to be considered for such an honor. Thank you to Karen Doppke for being an inspirational pioneer and leader and the MGH Physics Division for recognizing women in our field.

After hours with baby in the airport, my flight to #AAPM2024 was canceled. I’ll miss the res fair and a talk I’ve waited years to give. My bag with baby bottles/gear, residency pamphlets and conference attire is lost. I hope to see you Monday, LA, maybe in my sweatpants. #MedPhys

After very little sleep on my part, baby and I arrived in LA! I was able to pre record my talk, and I can still do my 2nd one tomorrow. Bags will hang out at JFK for a few days, but I have what I need. Grateful for kindness of strangers throughout the journey. Hello #AAPM2024!

My favorite part of #AAPM2024 was networking with others working in the education space and brainstorming ideas for new ways of teaching #MedPhys. Huge thanks to everyone who makes all this possible. Here’s hoping the flight home goes smoothly!

None of us gets it right all the time. The world around us changes and we, ourselves, change. #MedPhys is much more about personal integrity and kindness than it is about number of publications and titles.
