Delivering and expressing a gene in cells is usually a messy (heterogeneous) process. The messiness interferes with research and applications such as gene therapy. In two new papers, we introduce a toolbox of synthetic miRNA-based control circuits that enable more precise, gene

How did people describe the brain before computer metaphors? Charles S. Sherrington in 1942 called it "that enchanted loom where millions of flashing shuttles weave a dissolving pattern."

Hi Morrisons care to enlighten everyone as to why you felt it would be ok to block off your disabled parking spaces to sell plants please? Have you put more disabled bays in elsewhere? What’s the plan for disabled shoppers?

Sam (Flower Girl) Jennings Morrisons Similar at our local hospital. Not enough disabled bay as it is but they are used for temporary portacabins, materials storage and building new buildings on. The ones lost are the ones closest to the main hospital building .

I received my first MDPI reviewer request. I had to reject it but they ask 1 week? I am used to 2 weeks which is general fine but 1 week? Also I read some horror story of people who reviewed for MDPI journals. Any thoughts on it?

Sometimes I wish that academia realized support (for students, faculty, and staff) could look like giving people time to rest rather than calling another meeting or planning an event.

Want to know more about that neglected cell-type in brain, oligodendrocytes? Great recent review on oligo bioenergetics, including what happens in demyelinating diseases. doi.org/10.1111/jnc.16…

Heather Chacon Agreed. Almost all support is always just *adding* stuff to do. Let's do trainings on "how you can have more peace and sanity" --- how about just giving us peace?

Very happy to share our new work out in Alzheimer's & Dementia Journals, showing that combining PI-2620 tau-PET and fluid p-tau markers can help discriminate 4R tauopathies vs. AD. Huge thanks to first author Roxane Dilcher and co-senior MatthiasBrendel doi.org/10.1002/alz.14…
