We cannot normalize being a monolingual country in a multilingual world. That closes doors for our students. That’s why we are investing in multilingualism and in turn, investing in our future.

In school, I felt different for being Latino. A lot of my teachers would call me "Michael" instead of Miguel and I was too shy to correct them. I want students who currently feel this way to know what I know now, that being multicultural is a strength, not a weakness.
