"Anoxia Begets Anoxia" — now published in Global Change Biology! We analyzed data from >600 lakes to quantify a positive feedback by which bottom-water anoxia begets increasingly severe occurrences of anoxia in following summers. doi.org/10.1111/gcb.17…
Why did the freshwater scientist introduce plastics into a lake in NW Ontario? Well, to discover the impact on freshwater lakes, of course... Global National breaks it all down in under three minutes... bit.ly/3yBjUfa
Nice to see this study published in NZJMFR. The authors show how a traditional fishing method has multiple applications for #biomonitoring - here the whakaweku (bracken fern bundles) was used to sample stream macroinvertebrate communities Ian Kusabs tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
Our new paper is online at Environmental DNA. We use national stream macroinvertebrate datasets collected using benthic sampling and #eDNA to compare how well each quantifies stream ecosystem health. eDNA works well with the right approach and/or index onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
