Has anyone heard of RemChol (cyclodextrin) and if so what are your thoughts? Recently asked by a friend of mine and I hadn’t heard of this before.

Just because someone says it on a podcast, doesn’t mean it’s true.

Crazy how much time clinicians must take to overcome false things people hear on podcasts/ social media.

A patient recently told me they were cursed with a fully functioning mind, trapped in a broken down body that severely limited what they could do.

A reminder that we need to be working hard now to fight off frailty and chronic disease. Our future selves will thank us.

A common misconception is the thought that low LDL-C might increase risk of hemorrhagic stroke or dementia. This great review provides a summary as to why these claims are unfounded.

I’ve heard myths perpetuated by quacks that high-intensity interval training is bad (they incorrectly claim the normal and appropriate cortisol response is to blame).

I recently asked one of my nephrologist colleagues this question and they completely agreed. Protein restriction in CKD is likely overall harmful - we need adequate protein for many reasons.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how to live longer. But even more important is getting the most out of every second of life. Bill Walton was the best at that. It was an honor to meet him! RIP to an all time great!

'We don't need science, just listen to your body!'

85% of people over 50 have coronary plaque detectable by imaging, but only 8% have symptoms at that age

Our body speaks many languages. Abnormal tests is also your body telling you something

As an interventional cardiologist, I spend more time screening people for obstructive sleep apnea than I do for coronary artery disease.

If you have a patient with asymptomatic LV dysfunction - don't be reassured!

Asymptomatic LV dysfunction is associated with nearly 4 fold higher mortality rate than those with normal LV systolic function.

I’m reviewing ISAR REACT 5 for Cardiology Trials Substack tomorrow

Prasugrel clearly superior to ticagrelor in ACS. Investigator-initiated. No industry.

Why is ticagrelor so popular? What am I missing?

A friend recently showed me a video of an influencer stating drinking aged urine is good for the microbiome.

Crazy to think people believe this stuff and yet we struggle to get 50% of post MI patients to take their statin.
