Breakdown of a personal concept piece from last year. Neo East Finchley - inspired by the place where I lived. Usually I use simple cubes to block in the bigger shapes. The archer statue is an existing one, perhaps the most well known symbol of East Finchley. #digitalart

East Finchley station was originally opened in 1867 by the Great Northern Railway. The Northern line was created in the 1930s as part of the tube network, for which the station was acquired. It was then rebuilt to a design of Charles Holden with the 10-feet high 'Archer' statue.

There is a archer on the roof of East Finchley station. The Archer, or 'Archie' as locals christened him, unveiled by sculptor Eric Aumonier on 22 July 1940. Archie a metaphor for the speed with which the Northern line trains shot into central London.

Phoenix Throwback Thursday: In 1974 we're screening STEPPENWOLF, a film adaptation of Hermann Hesse's 1927 novel, directed by Fred Haines. The film made heavy use of visual special effects that were cutting-edge at the time of its release. East Finchley East Finchley Town Team #throwback
