Don't know how bad the is?

Shane Jones could approve a mine in your catchment, throw out any conditions a panel advises, override any rules your council made for that catchment, risk polluting your drinking water & you wouldn't be told until after it was approved.

Not one environmental expert included in the advisory group.

The whole fast-track process still feels like a ‘condition setting’ exercise for ministers to consent approvals.

And a legal means to circumvent environmental protections.

Bipartisan support for climate action is a myth. National's on-paper commitment to the Zero Carbon Act and the Climate Commission has always been a convenient smokescreen while they dismantle all policy that will actually cut emissions. newsroom.co.nz/2024/04/08/gov…

Fast Track is a shortcut for harmful projects that shouldn't happen.

Seabed mining is opposed by iwi, enviro groups, fishing companies, local govt and was rejected by the Supreme Court.

Every future fast-track project will be tarnished by this.

Shocking. The Fast-Track is a backdoor for industry to push harmful projects that nobody wants and the legal system has already rejected. Seabed mining is opposed by iwi, environment groups, fishing companies, council and rejected by Supreme Court. stuff.co.nz/business/35023…

The NZ Prime Minister is now saying that it is ok to kill endangered baby dolphins so a boat race can proceed. Is there nothing he won’t kill for $?

Hundreds and hundreds of people online for our Forest & Bird webinar about fast track bill right now. People are appalled by the threat to our nature. This is not the Kiwi way.

FFS. NZ has the highest proportion of threatened native species. And the new Government is hell bent on ensuring they don't have a chance at recovery.

Gary Taylor having a swear *is* an environmental indicator.
'Environmental Defence Society chief executive Gary Taylor was unimpressed. “I haven’t spoken to Bishop, and that really pisses me off because of course all of this fast-track stuff gestated with asymmetrical influence.'
