This week, I was delighted to take part in the partners' meeting invited by Africa CDC West African RCC. I stressed the need to continue building trust and leveraging our strengths to achieve greater impact in protecting the health security of our Ecowas - Cedeao populations.
I also reiterated the readiness of ECOWAS Centre for Surveillance and Disease Control, that I am leading, to work with all stakeholders to support Ecowas - Cedeao member states in building capacity for integrated disease surveillance and response in line with international health regulations.

As part of the preparedness and response to Mpox epidemic in the Ecowas - Cedeao region, WAHO | OOAS in collaboration with Institut Pasteur de Dakar have trained and equipped 30 senior laboratory experts from the 15 Ecowas - Cedeao member states in the detection and diagnosis of the disease.
