Coming next: If the Tories can legislate to declare Rwanda a safe country in defiance of reality, it's not much of a stretch to imagine them going for a law that declares sick people well.

When thinking about the future of AI, perhaps a useful parallel might be DNA sequencing.

It took billions of dollars and 13 years to build technology to sequence the first person in full.

A couple of decades later, it costs hundreds of dollars, and is much quicker and simpler.

Delays mean just Β£404m of the money donated by nine countries has been committed or spent'

🚨🚨 This. Absolutely this by Mike which perfectly captures The Labour Party's absolutely non-sensical and craven position. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

EU to UK: Do you want freedom of movement back for young people? The Labour Party: We already told you: no freedom of movement. Unbelievable.

'Sunak rejects offer of youth mobility scheme between EU and UK

Labour also turns down European Commission’s proposal, which would have allowed young Britons to live, study and work in EU'

Both parties can get knotted as far as I'm concerned. Idiots all. theguardian.com/politics/2024/…

Today Starmer and Labour lost a lot of the votes in particular from the young aged 18-35 years old by simply confirming that they are not interested in a youth mobility scheme with the EU. Huge own goal. Fools.

Congratulations, Keir Starmer & The Labour Party

The EU finished expanding and testing its post-Brexit border facilities in 2019.

The Tories still haven't finished ours (some of the work has barely started).

So the much trailed incoming border checks are off, again again.

Uncertainty kills business!

They came for the asylum seekers.

They came for the immigrants.

Now they've come for the sick and those with disabilities.

The Tories won't rest until they've punched down at every single group that is not theirs.

The debacle started badly and got worse as the backpedalling retraction started. Neither Owen Jones (primarily) nor the Guardian (secondarily) come out looking good from this mess. Would have expected better from the newspaper.

Well done Oz for pursuing the truth so tenaciously.
