We welcome the #RuleOfLaw Report 2024. In 2016, we were the first to propose setting up this control mechanism. The report could be improved by: ⚖️ providing actionable recommendations; ⚖️ adding a chapter on civic space; ⚖️ increasing #EUCivilSociety’s participation.

It's #WorldWaterWeek, a crucial time to remember that water is a vital resource we must protect, especially in the face of climate change. This is why at the European Economic and Social Committee, we call for an #EUBlueDeal, to start addressing water as a priority at European scale.

The quality of traineeships across the EU must be improved. While they are a great opportunity to gain first professional experience, not all are fairly compensated. We call on the European Commission to ensure fair remuneration for trainees in its proposal. #BanUnpaidInternships
