I moved to MD because it didn’t have AOT, allowing me to escape a hellish cycle of involuntary treatment. Implementing AOT could force me out of MD when I thought I’d finally found a home.

Psych disabilities deserve the same legal protections as other disabilities, but too often people w/ pscyh disabilities are scapegoated for broader social issues.

I’m over the silence of disability & mental health orgs as states rapidly expand involuntary psych treatment.
