When it comes to calf rearing, my favourite thing in springtime is extra help. Even for a short time, it makes a difference. My 2nd favourite things are a second-hand maxi power washer with hot water and a calf barrow.

Further context: I am in End Stage Kidney Failure & need to move to facilitate Peritoneal (home based) Dialysis starting within the next 2/3 weeks. This is the only treatment option I have. I will die without it. 😭 Pls RT/tag anyone who may know of something available! 💔

Yest. evening. Cows taking it easy these days. No 10/ 7 yet. 19 L, 3.9% Pro., 4.95%BF, 1.5 kgs meal. 2nd grazing following 2nd cut. Reduced stocking rate. Baled off more on out farm this year, 15 bales/acre, old pasture with a bit of rush, dry cows love it.

Recorded this on the farm earlier in the spring. The long eared owls came back after their absence last year and fledged what sounded like 2 chicks😊.

In a 1st for us, vaccinated the weanling heifers yest. for resp. Disease in prep. For housing. Hope it will make a difference. No worm dosing yet. I expect that will change in the next week or so.
