Today was my last day working as a military/hospital librarian. I'm leaving some terrific & irreplaceable colleagues behind, and taking wonderful memories & skills with me. Forever grateful for my time at WRNMMC & looking forward to my next adventure! Sarah Clarke Michele Mason-Coles

Happy Tuesday morning!

I see 'Sci-Hub' a lot in .

Sci-Hub is...controversial, and while no one is stopping you from using it, I wanted to give you other options that are, um, maybe more legit.

The number of SR/MA I click on to see how someone searched a tricky topic (or part of a topic) and find terrible/incomplete/no searches is astounding. It makes me realize good search methods are almost like finding a unicorn. Feeling appreciative of our community!

There are often misconceptions about

Scoping reviews are:
βœ…A type of evidence synthesis & are held to the same rigorous standards
βœ…Require more than one author
βœ…Require an a priori protocol
βœ…Should follow methodological guidance
βœ…Reported using PRISMA-ScR

(1/n) Y'all, it's that time of year - that's right, new !!! I hope other are as excited as I am for the updates to Medical Subject Headings (used in Medline) as I am.
(apologies - I deleted previous thread and redoing it to have hashtags for discoverability)

'Scoping reviews are exploratory in nature, whereas systematic reviews (esp. with meta-analyses) are explanatory in nature' - really helpful way to remember the difference, thanks Dr Danielle Pollock!

I've never looked at so many search strings since becoming a health librarian. All day I stare at searches and build searches and wonder why searches work or don't work. Also, MeSH.
