An extraordinary opportunity for the right person. An 18-month, £61k p/a role developing plays for the RSC, and working alongside senior leadership on literary strategy. This plus the Associate Playwright roles at the Court feels like a bit of a sea change.

Every year on the boards I chair I undertake 1-2-1 board chats and appraisals, and have done for 12 years or more. Such a valuable way of understanding fellow trustees’ passions, concerns, desire to support more and to improve my work. I always ask them the same questions: 1/5

What is likely to be eating a lemon tree in Brisbane? No slugs etc in sight. Would this be a possum?! And what can I do to stop it happening without spraying something on the tree which would make the lemons inedible?

It was a pleasure to work with the Methuen team on this. Do share with teachers you know who teach Women of Troy, esp. at high school or to undergrads new to Greek tragedy!

Do some publishers not issue contracts for chapter authors in ed. cos? I’ve never seen experienced this before (either as a contributor or editor) but am involved in a volume (Routledge) that isn’t issuing contracts to anyone but the editor. Am I out of touch in finding this odd?

Stressful seven days dealing with multiple hospitalisations for this little one but he’s discharged and lives to tell the tale. Three days until a week of annual leave and I don’t know if I’ve ever needed it more!
