On any given day, there are 600,000+ frozen embryos housed in fertility clinics and labs across the US. All it takes to dispose of or donate one is signing a form. No interference, shaming, protests, or terrorists. Never say this is about life and not women's freedom.

Last week, NYC hosted Climate week. Today, it’s underwater. Every day, it's becoming more obvious: Climate change isn't a far-off threat - it's impacting us right here, right now. #NYCFlood

As climate records are falling like dominoes, it's more important than ever for people to understand the risks of inaction AND the solutions that could lead us to a better future. Read or listen to my convo with Sean Sublette here: stltoday.com/news/nation-wo…

Good afternoon (or morning, or evening). I went dark yesterday, really dark. But I managed to sleep and I have some clarity about the Al Ahli hospital massacre that I want to share with you. I'll only tweet this rambling thread today and then log off. Please read and share.

The most blow-your-brains-out American moment of this interview is when this ex-official surmises that more State Dept. officials would speak up if there were universal healthcare and government employees felt that they could afford to lose their jobs.

Same outcome, different path...quit my job, sent MFA apps and then found out I was pregnant. Then COVID. Then applied again to MFAs and found out AGAIN that I was pregnant. And my debut novel comes out 2025! The important part is the reorienting of life around writing.

Darn! I forgot to celebrate the anniversary of the Greatest Tweet ever Tweeted, but in that space between the birth of the baby in the stable and the three wise guys arriving we should install an annual commemoration of this climate/feminist wisecrack heard around the world.

And for those that rejoice at this, or who think we did it to ourselves or we deserve it, I just want to say that places with no local news have higher taxes and less democratic engagement. Countries with no national news, have diminished civil society.

There is a full-on Twitter fight happening about if this is a poem or not and I'm just over here DELIGHTED that so many people have opinions about poetry. (also, this poem is so freakin beautiful Diane Seuss)

Would love a Presidential debate where issues were raised one by one: Housing shortage, infrastructure, etc.. And each candidate can only answer with their proposed plan to fix it. Maybe 10 issues, and must present *detailed plans* to the public that they walk through.
