This year’s #NFLDraft is the first without an FCS player picked in the first two rounds since 2009.

That year, Western Illinois linebacker Jason Williams was the first FCS selection (Dallas Cowboys, third round, No. 69).

During the 2020s, Valley Football has been in an FCS class of its own when it comes to #NFLDraft picks.

South Dakota State tight end Tucker Kraft was a Day 2 pick during the 2023 NFL Draft, going to the Green Bay Packers in the third round (No. 78 overall).

Los Angeles Rams first-round draft pick Jared Verse of Florida State was a Jerry Rice Award finalist following the spring 2021 season.

In 15 games over two seasons with the Great Danes, Verse had 74 tackles, 21.5 TFLs and 13.5 sacks.
