Finally finished my entry for tomorrow's SNESFest Sciences at Newcastle Art of Science exhibition!
I've embroidered the structure of Green Fluorescent Protein with neon threads and drawn the structure using E. coli which is expressing GFP. Both fluoresce under UV light š #SciArt š¦ š
Beautiful (both visually and scientifically) research by Jason Chen testing the role of chance in shaping animal-microbe symbioses.
Have you finished or about to finish your PhD and interested to work on any aspect of Cordyceps fungi?
Send me a message if you are interested to build a proposal and join my lab.

What can we learn from timing the onset of symbiosis? And how does symbiont acquisition & molecular evolution impact host adaptation & diversification?
We ask these questions of leaf beetles, led by Marleny GarcĆa Lozano & out today in Current Biology!
