During the night, 70 incredible supporters departed our HQ in Aylesford to journey 44km across the North Downs to raise vital funds and awareness for RBLI’s work with vulnerable veterans. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

On this important military anniversary, the President of RBLI’s Tommy Club, General The Lord Dannatt, has been on television from the British Normandy Memorial that lists the names of the 22,442 servicemen and women who fell on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy in 1944.

Today we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy on 6th June 1944.

We remember all those who left British soil never to return, as well as all those who have served our nation since that fateful day.

RBLI will be appearing on this evening’s The One Show on a feature covering the anniversary of D-Day. 🎥

They visited our factory and spent time in our care homes to meet some of the veterans we support. 🎖️

On this day in 1940, Operation Dynamo was ordered to commence. Initiated as a rescue mission to extract troops from Dunkirk, all available RAF aircrafts were deployed to protect the evacuation with 338,000 troops rescued from Dunkirk between 26th May and 4th June 1940.

RBLI's Lifeworks team took delivery of four fully refurbished laptops courtesy of the Kent based charity Computers 4 Charity which will be used on all our employability courses and provide an essential digital portal to the job market for our veterans.

Today we created a very special installation as we reflect on the upcoming D-Day 80th anniversary. Using 80 Tommies etched in the sand, this emotive piece was in place for just a few short hours until the poignant moment that the tide came in and washed away the silhouettes.
