Update on Jonas:

It was a nasty crash, but fortunately he is stable and conscious.

Examinations at the hospital have revealed that he has a broken collarbone and several broken ribs. He remains in hospital as a precaution. Thank you for all your messages. ❤️

De database is inderdaad top, in combinatie met SafeR wordt er nu ook wat mee gedaan. De aanbevelingen op proces (parcours, hekken, obstakels) en gedrag van iedereen in koers worden nu opgepakt. Goed dat UCI SafeR mede heeft omarmd voor de veiligheid van de renners.

Beelden van rennersvrouwen en kleine kinderen die hun partner/papa gaan bezoeken aan het ziekenhuis, moet dat echt? Laat die mensen gerust op zulke momenten. Meer dan een medische update hoef ik niet te hebben. #WoutJasper

After a few seconds of shock having barely escaped myself, I tried as hard as I could to bring myself out of it. As we got onto the foot of the Kanarieberg I felt some responsibility to honor what has gone into this. The sheer man-hours, planning, late nights and early mornings…

So about yesterday… I really want to wish everyone that went down the best in their individual recoveries, however long and arduous they may be 😓. It was a big relief to get news after the finish that no one was in critical condition. Having seen the crash first hand I imagined…
