I witnessed the most beautiful thing in the history of urology. A patient’s chronic nephrostomy tube fell out. Admitted to the hospital, IR changed it and the pt discharged. Urology never consulted as an inpatient.

Any studies out there on “MyChart medicine” causing unnecessary testing, treatment & healthcare costs?

What I mean by that is incidental mildly abnormal labs that would normally be not treated are bc of messages & insistence about them

Ex. Ca of 10.7 or asymptomatic bactiuria

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You should only ask people you hate to be part of your wedding if you’re going ask people to spend money like this. Because it’s a crappy thing to do to your friends.
