Just a normal Tuesday with BMC Surgery. Had a great time at our resident retreat- grateful for everyone that made it possible for every resident to have the day off- we definitely made the most of it!
We survived our first rotation of intern year! (And all managed to have the same evening off). Thankful for some bonding time and a golden weekend coming up! BMC Surgery
Scrubbed 5 cases today! First cases of residency 😊 Huge thanks to the PA’s BMC Surgery who make it possible for us to learn so much and still get to the OR. Intern year so far has been a hustle but I’ve learned SO much more than I ever thought possible in such a short time.
“Can I help you with anything?”
This is a common question that medical students ask when they are their 3rd and 4th year rotations, particularly on the wards.
I remember asking this as a medical student.
I remember being asked this as a resident.
A thread. #medtwitter

Walking into the OR locker room with my co-interns, a bit lost and clearly holding up traffic. “Sorry! Just finding our way around”. Boston Medical Center staff “Please don’t apologize, you belong here!” So fortunate to be starting my residency at such a welcoming place 😊
Added some letters to my name yesterday! Huge thanks to our commencement speaker ADM Rachel Levine for the inspiring speech. Next step- onto BMC Surgery! I’m so very grateful for all the support I’ve had to get me to this point! #surgtwitter #MedTwitter #ILookLikeASurgeon
Very proud of TUSOM Student Clinic Council (SCC) for the hard work and flexibility that allowed our student-run TB program to continue operations during the pandemic. These M2s adapted the program to continue providing housing clearances while ensuring both student and patient safety. ⬇️
In health care we have 'never events' - if enough fail safe mechanisms are set-up against errors & biases they should occur 0 times. 'Accidentally' fatally shooting someone with a gun when you 'meant' to use your taser should arguably be a police never event. #DaunteWright
It's time to lean into the discomfort and do the hard work - here are my suggestions:
