Great news that Ofgem has extended rules that ensure fairer access to energy deals for all consumers, including 2.3 million households who can’t switch supplier due to debt. A market of unsustainable deals won’t deliver the higher standards and low carbon innovation we need.

2.25m households on Universal Credit get less income than they should due to deductions for debt. The system - advance loans in particular - quite literally creates and perpetuates problem debt for people on already low incomes. Change is well overdue.
