This cross-sectional data suggests that sleep deprivation may increase cardiovascular disease through inflammation, while weekend catch-up sleep could help counteract this. Though sleeping over 7 hours nightly is ideal, weekend catch-up sleep may mitigate some negative effects /9

Taking care of #parents is taking care of the whole family, and parents' mental health (which is the same as their health) deserves our full and prioritized financial and policy attention. I'm ecstatic to see the US Surgeon General saying the same thing. hhs.gov/surgeongeneral…

If you’re a parent or caregiver and you feel like you are trying to “do it all” on your own—you're not alone. As outlined in my new advisory, parents and caregivers report being lonelier than other adults.

Let's consider not just the impact of early childhood trauma, but the potential for therapeutic intervention to change developmental trajectories. This UC San Francisco study helps us to envision healing possibilities journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.11…

Parents are more stretched for time than in recent generations. In 2022 compared to 1985, both mothers and fathers spent more time working and more time caring for their children—leaving them with less time to care for themselves.
