European Union #wheat production cut by 4 million metric tons to 124 mmt. Still above other estimates. Australia raised by 2 mmt. #oatt

The market has greater confidence that the size of the US #corn and #soybean crops has been priced in following yesterday's crop report. Midwest forecast is also wetter, suggesting that we won't be brining in two record crops quite as quickly, easing storage issues a bit. #oatt

#wheat is the interesting market to watch, with implications for #corn. Europe's crop likely has more downgrades, along with Russia. Still dry in Russian winter wheat areas. Russia may need to restrict exports in last half of MY. Global exporter stocks otherwise tight. #oatt

Export inspections for the week ending Sept. 12 (mln bu): #corn 20.5, grain sorghum 2.6, #soybeans 14.7, #wheat 20.5 #oatt

The portion of export inspections for the week ending Sept. 12 that were destined for China included (mln bu): #corn 0.1, grain sorghum 2.5, #soybeans 0.2, #wheat 0.0 #oatt

Marketing year to date #wheat export inspections exceed the seasonal pace needed to hit USDA's target by 10 million bushels, up from 9 million bushels the prior week. #oatt

Two weeks into the new #soybean marketing year, year to date inspections fall short of the seasonal pace needed to hit USDA's target by 14 million bushels, doubling the previous week's deficit. #oatt

Two weeks into the new #corn marketing year, total inspections match the seasonal pace needed to hit USDA's target when including a good week and this week's poor showing. #oatt

Not surprisingly, European weekly model trended drier for Center-West Brazil over the weekend. Still suggesting perhaps 2 - 3" in the first three weeks of the month, but we'll need to watch this trend. #soybeans #oatt

Following today's crop ratings, my #corn yield model rose another 0.4 bpa, while my #soybean yield model dropped 0.1 bpa. Yield models this time of year start reflecting harvest reports being heard by those who fill out the surveys. #oatt

Rains still appear likely to begin to spread into Center-West Brazil production areas starting the first week of October. That's later than farmers prefer, but still in time. #soybeans #oatt

Early harvest results are always mixed. Hearing more big impressive #corn yields to offset problem areas. Probably more "disappointing" #soybean yields at this point due to the dry finish. Still big supplies, but maybe not as large as feared. #oatt

Arlan Suderman We’re currently losing 7-8% of yield in soybeans due to low moisture beans. Yields are good, but probably 7-10 bushels less than what they could’ve been with a rain during August.
