Gave me chills of terror watching this. Watch it and push back hard on anyone who stokes this kind of gender/academic culture war shit. It leads to this. To violence.

Our recent study found nearly 40% (!) of 12-21 year old females were iron deficient. tinyurl.com/FeJAMA Which matters because iron deficiency w/o anemia can cause a myriad of different symptoms. But there’s more to it than that… A #hemetweetorial thread 1/

the way people are worshiping z*ckerberg when the man literally has been subject to election interference investigations and also recently gave the cops a teen’s private messages on facebook discussing her abortion leading to the seizure of her devices for prosecution

8/Zoey’s parents are fortunate to have connections and flexibility to take time away from work to fight these road blocks. Imagine being too sick to advocate for yourself, or non english speaking, or unable to afford taking hours off work to wait on the phone.

For faculty, “letter of recommendation writing season” is here. Not long ago, an Ivy League program analyzed residency applications for plagiarism. 2.6% of applicants submitted a plagiarized personal statement. But 11.8% of applications included at least one plagiarized LOR.

50 years ago today, on September 20, 1973, Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in the Battle of the Sexes, a tennis match watched by 90 million people worldwide. The impact of her victory not only permeated the sports world, but also advanced women’s rights and equality

On this day 197 years ago the world's first ever public railway was opened in northern England. And a whole new form of architecture was born: the train station. So, to celebrate, here are some of the world's greatest train stations...

Great speech by The Nobel Prize winner Katalin Kariko ~1 min in: "I see many of you may be immigrants, just like I am, its a little bit more difficult, but we are more resilient - that's the same for the women" From all of us who are immigrants, who are women - you are an inspiration 🙏

Absolutely gut wrenching to watch. RIP Dr. Barbera Friedes. Yet another example of why road paint and flexiposts are dangerous excuses for a bike lane. #concretenotpaint Docs4SafeCycling Streetsblog New York
